Key Upgrades of the Pixel 10 Series

The Pixel 10 models are equipped with the new Tensor G5 chip, a larger battery (the standard Pixel 10 even has 4,970 mAh), and support Qi2 wireless charging with magnetic Pixelsnap accessories. Pixel 10 Pro Fold: The New Challenge

The Pixel 10 Pro Fold was announced on August 20, 2025, and will be available in stores starting October 9. This means having the right tools on hand. Below is a list of the tools you’ll need to safely open and repair the Pixel 10 Pro Fold:

Precision Torx and Torx Plus screwdrivers: Google uses different Torx sizes, including on the Fold.
Thin opening tools & plastic picks: needed to safely separate the delicate foldable screen and back panel.
Heat gun: the Fold has extra adhesive and sealing around the hinge and inner display layer.
Anti-static mat & wrist strap: because you’re working very close to sensitive components and cables.
Microscope: to clearly see the narrow cables and connectors in the hinge area.

Tips for Your Repair Shop

Keep stock: Start stocking the new batteries (pull jacket) early and be prepared for demand for Qi2 accessories.
Invest in tools: The standard models require fewer screw types, but the Fold needs specific tools for the hinge and display.
